Description

Are you tired of breaking your own promises to begin taking care of your body, eating differently and making it to the gym on a regular basis?

Have you had trouble losing weight only to gain it back, plus extra?

Do you feel addicted to certain foods (or just food in general) and don’t know how to finally get “unhooked”?

Or maybe you tried diet after diet as well as all kinds of workouts but nothing seemed to work?

Do you feel brain-fogged, drained of energy, and unmotivated during a day?

Do you tend to act impulsively around food?

Or maybe you get so overwhelmed by all the conflicting data about how to get fit and don’t even know where to start?

Does it frustrate you to constantly lurch from periods of being hyper-focused on the task and feeling like a super-human to the times of “burn-out”, feeling lethargic, lazy, and filled with dissatisfaction?

Have you found yourself missing out on time with loved ones because your body just doesn’t allow you to stay as active as you would want to be?

Do you avoid important events because you’re embarrassed about the way you look?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, I want you to know that you’re not alone. I get it! And I’d love to help you break through the dieting plateau and gain back control over your body and life.

Why does ADHD make it harder for you to follow a healthy lifestyle?

You’re likely to be aware that the most obvious factors for a healthy, strong, and fit body include:

  • A clean, whole-food diet.
  • Not smoking.
  • Consuming a minimal amount of alcohol or none at all.
  • Regular exercise.
  • Making at least 10k steps a day.
  • Getting enough sleep, and
  • Low stress levels.

Unfortunately, those of us with ADD or ADHD often struggle with if not all but most of these items. Why? Because we naturally have deficits in the executive functioning which leads to impaired self-regulation, impulsive behaviors, prioritizing an immediate reward rather than long-term welfare, and lack of willpower. That’s why people with ADHD are more likely to fail at self-change programs.

But hey, don’t despair. One thing I want to tell you from the get-go: the way your brain is wired doesn’t define you as a person. You’re not bad or broken! It also doesn’t stop you from improving yourself, maximizing your potential, building new, beneficial habits to get the physique you’ve always wanted.

Wellness coaching

Life is about relationships. Changing behaviors can be extremely hard in isolation. On one hand, I understand that anything that’s connected to body image is something not everyone is thrilled to share. And maybe you’re also used to dealing with it alone. But in my experience, it’s not a great idea. Silence only exaggerate negative self-talk, guilt, and shame which are the known culprits for failure.

Reaching out, on the other hand, is one of the most effective things you can do to get and stay on track. Whether it’s a friend who “gets you”, a mastermind group, an online community, or a coach, you do want some form of social support to find added strength, resilience, and accountability. Having a good role model, seeing similar others successfully perform your desired behavior, and just talking about your problems and experiences can be incredibly helpful for your self-belief, ability to act on your intentions and sustain commitments.

A coach offers you guidance in discovering your inner motivation, developing your unique strategy for change, overcoming challenges, and keeping yourself accountable.

What makes my service stand out compared to other programs?

I base my coaching practice on:

  1. Scientific evidence
  2. Deep understanding of ADHD mind
  3. A practical reality of each unique client

As a fitness professional, I do believe it’s my responsibility to provide high-quality, unbiased information and personalized guidelines on lifestyle, diet, exercise, and behavior change.

But I’ve also learned that in the real world, educating alone is just not enough for a successful transformation. People are not robots and the problem of those of us with ADHD is usually not the lack of knowledge but the inability to pursue plans and dreams.

Lots of experts in a health area tend to drop a ton of scientific facts and figures on their clients or give them the exact solution that’s backed up by research and suppose to magically “work for everyone”, expecting them to implicitly follow through.

The problem with these sorts of approaches is that they don’t look at what drives and motivates this particular person and what’s her environment like, for example, who supports or potentially sabotages her lifestyle changes, or how busy her life is in general. They don’t take into account the client’s eating behaviors, her shopping or cooking patterns, her self-confidence, the way she deals with stress and emotions, her sleep habits, personal preferences and values, and so forth. They are not created for a person with ADHD whose nervous system operates by the different rules. People with this disorder don’t really fit into the linear, organized world. And that’s ok.

The secret is to stop trying to turn yourself into someone who doesn’t have ADHD. You need to create your own manual for goals achievement and rather than focusing on what you can’t do and where you fall short, focus on your unique abilities and things that make you function at your full capacity.

You’re an expert in your own life. My job is to help you find out the best possible solutions that make sense in the context of your life, given your specific circumstances.

In my coaching practice, I place the emphasis on the client’s strengths and resources so that together we can create effective strategies, overcome challenges, maintain accountability, and achieve sustainable results.

By blending together a variety of great coaching approaches that help people shift their unhealthy patterns and habits and adopt new positive behaviors with a deep understanding of how their unique body works, I believe I can serve my clients in a most efficient way.

But don’t make a mistake: coaching is anything but an easy fix. It doesn’t mean I’m just going to throw the easy solutions at you. It’s hard work on both sides. You’ve got to be willing to fulfill your part in developing and taking the actions required for your success. And I will be there to assist you and support you every step of the way.

The areas of my expertise include helping women:

  • Improve physical fitness, strength, balance, mobility, and flexibility
  • Boost brain health and function
  • Reach and maintain an appropriate weight
  • Adopt and sustain an active lifestyle
  • Learn how to manage your mind so that it doesn’t manage you
  • Make permanent changes in your eating
  • Diminish unhealthy habits and develop healthy ones
  • Achieve work-life balance
  • Decrease stress
  • Build resilience
  • Practice mindfulness and meditation
  • Improve sleep, and finally,
  • Learn self-love and self-acceptance
