Chocolate Mousse
Notes
This one is for everybody who struggles with sugar cravings! This dessert is just amazing! Even though it's not a "cheat meal", it still has a significant caloric impact. It is rich in fats and carbs (sugar in particular), that provide you with a lot of energy and can be perfect before any high intensity workout. Therefore you need to remember, that this snack is only good in moderation and that you should avoid it in the night.
The mousse contains a good amount of fiber, the "slow-acting" carbohydrate. Fiber is an essential part of a healthy diet. It helps lower the risks of diabetes and heart disease, maintain and improve metabolism and bowel health. The fats in this dessert are mostly the ones that are actually good for you (poly- and monounsaturated). They improve your blood cholesterol profile and fight inflammation. This meal is also a good source of potassium, that helps lower the risks of heart disease and stroke, and antioxidants, that protect the body from a buildup of free radicals.
